AN OPPORTUNITY FOR SOMETHING NEW

 Hi. Are you stuck and looking for a way out? Have you been bound by oppression, depression, fear and frustration? Have you tried doing everything you can only to fall into the same old funk year after year and can't shake loose of the shoulda, coulda, woulda's? Have you been rejected or rejected others by default because you were always trying to do the "right thing" and and all it did was bring more confusion? Are you tired of the struggle? Would you like to be free?

I want to share something with you from personal experience. I know I will lose most of you when I bring up the word faith. But for those who want to really break free this time, I encourage you to read this. 

Not very many people understand what faith is. They just assume they have it because they want to. The Bible tells us that before the coming of this faith, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. 

The law, that the Bible says had custody of us until Christ came, caused sin to increase. Where sin increases, grace increases all the more. Grace, when received by faith is how we are saved. Grace is the empowerment to walk out our salvation. Salvation is what happens when we are saved. Saved in the Greek is "Sozo". It means to save, rescue, deliver, heal, and make whole. 

For years I lived in a mixture of law and grace. All it did was bring condemnation. I was trying so hard to work my way approved. I lived in more fear of man than I did of the fear of God. The law brings sin and the wages of sin are death. It will always be death.

 Jesus was found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death- even death on a cross! How many of us have tried to rebel against death? God secured death to be the payment for sin. The Bible says that Jesus became obedient to death, even death on a cross! The death He died, He died to sin, once for all!! 

Death is the absence of life. That is where your struggle is coming from. Your struggle is not flesh and blood. You are struggling against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.You can sit, complain, rebel, or try to be a good person all you want. But you will never win that way. You will never overcome by your own strength or merit. 

Do you know that back in the beginning, in Genesis God created us to overcome? In Genesis 1:28, God created us, blessed us and told us to multiply and overcome the earth. Then, in Deuteronomy 30, He set heaven and earth as witnesses against us, that He set before us life and death, blessings and curses. He tells us to choose life so that our children may live and that we may love The LORD God, listen to His voice, and hold fast to Him. For the LORD is our life, and He will give us many years in the land he swore to our fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was LIFE, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness and darkness has not overcome it.

The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and tho the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him. He came to His own, but His own did not receive Him. Yet to all who did receive Him and believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God- not born of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husbands will, but born OF God.

Do you know what it means to be born of God? It means born again, born of the Spirit. It is to be rescued from the dominion of darkness and brought into a new kingdom. The Kingdom of the Son God loves. That is why Scripture tells us to seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and then all things will be added unto us. This is not our own righteousness. Self righteousness tries to rebel against death. Self righteous people like to blame everyone for all their problems. Self righteousness likes to stay in ignorance because it thinks that ignorance frees it from any responsibility to make a decision. Self righteousness masks itself as being a "good person", all the while blaming all the "bad people" for the worlds problems. People aren't your problem. God is not your problem. You are your problem. You can decorate, filter, white wash your tomb all you want but at the end of the day you have to choose to stay in death or choose the Resurrection Life that was made possible for you in Christ Jesus. 

God sent us His Son, not to condemn us but to save us through Himself. He came once to bear our sin. He is coming again to bring salvation to us who are waiting on Him. Are you resisting Him? There will be no rest for you until you surrender to Him fully. Would you like to be whole? Would you like to stop always coming up short and toiling, getting nowhere? Ignorance isn't freedom. Ignorance caused Gods people to perish and Love is what gives them Life. There is no grater love then He who laid down His life for the sake of another. God is Love. The only way to Him is through Jesus Christ. The only way to receive the gift of grace that saves is through faith. Faith works by love. Faith without Love is dead. 

Are you ready for something new? If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old is gone, the new is here! Believe and you will be rescued, delivered and made whole.
