The Righteousness of God Through Christ Jesus!

I woke up this morning with Hebrews 6:1 on my heart this morning. But before we go into Hebrews 6, I want to look at Hebrews 5:11-14. "We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand. In fact, though this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elemental truths of Gods Word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil."

I want to point out that the elemental truths are the foundation on which we are saved. The elemental truth is that through the death, burial and resurrection sin has been dealt with. We are NOW reconciled to God and He is revealed to us through His Son Jesus. Jesus is the goodness of God. And He is the One who leads us to repentance. Repentance is the outcome of knowing the Father through the Son. This is what the Bible calls milk. And anyone who lives on milk is still an infant and not acquainted with righteousness. Solid food is for the mature.

Now lets go to Hebrews 6:1, "Therefore let us move beyond the elemental teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, instruction about cleansing rites, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgement. And God permitting, we will do so."

What is he saying here? Let's build on this foundation. Let's not just keep laying the foundation over and over again. Let's move to building on the foundation of truth. The foundation is not the finish line, it's the starting point. We are not called to live as infants. But everyone starts out as an infant in ORDER to grow into maturity. It is impossible for us to be brought backward to repentance if we have been enlightened, have tasted the heavenly gift, have shared in the Holy Spirit, have tasted the goodness of the Word of God and the powers of the coming age and fall away. Repentance is a change of mind. Before we are enlightened, and before we taste and see that the Lord is good- we are ignorant of knowing we need saving. This is where we repent and be baptized in the washing of the water through the Word. The Word renews our mind and changes our mind. This is where we come into agreement with the Word of God and come to the knowledge that we are sinners who need saving. We wait here until He who is coming comes. When He comes, He baptizes with the Holy Spirit and fire. Here, we again repent and are baptized. We go from dead beat sinner to one who receives forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Once we receive forgiveness we become a new creation. Old things pass away and all things become new. The only place to go back to from here if we fall away, is back to the cross. And to our loss, we just keep crucifying the Son of God over and over again subjecting Him to public disgrace. The cross is the foundation. Sin being defeated, the powers of darkness being defeated is the foundation!!! If we fall away, that is where we fall back to. Everything will be tested by fire. The land that drinks the water produces a useful crop for those for whom. it is farmed receives the blessing of God. But the land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless, it is doomed. It will not burn it will be burned up in the end. I just want to throw this scripture in here and give you some more to think about. Hebrews 12:20, "For our God is a consuming fire."

But there are even better things that have to do with salvation! God is not unjust. He will not forget our work and the love we have shown Him as we have helped His people and continue to help them. We will show diligence until the very end, so that what we hope for may be fully realized. Let us not become lazy, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised!

What was promised?

When God made His promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for Him to swear by; He swore by Himself, saying, "I will surely bless you and give you many descendants. And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised."

The oath puts and end to all arguments. God wanted to make the unchanging nature of His very purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, He confirmed it with an oath. God did this that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take ahold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus has entered on our behalf. He has become a High Priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.

So what does all this mean? God promised Abraham descendants. We know the promise was for Abraham and His Seed. We know the Seed is Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One! He is the descendant, the Seed. He who descended is the One who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe. People are going to say I'm twisting scripture. But I'm not. I am letting Scripture interpret Scripture. That is why no matter what translation man comes up with of the Bible, no matter what doctrine is taught- the Blood still speaks. The life of the creature is in the blood. Everything must be purified by the Blood of Jesus because without shedding of the Blood there is no forgiveness of sins. This Blood is the Covenant, which is poured out to remove your sins. We have been redeemed from the empty way of life we inherited from Adam. This is the foundation!!!!!! The Blood of Jesus! If our sins are not forgiven then we do not yet know repentance that comes from the goodness of God. Stop looking at your sin!!! And look to the cross and receive in your inner sanctuary your true identity in Jesus Christ. In Christ we become the righteousness of God. Let us not receive Gods grace in vain! Today is the day of Salvation! We no longer live for ourselves but for Him who died for us and was raised again. Now we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead speaking the truth in love we will become the mature body of Him who is the head, that is Christ! From Him (The Messiah, The Anointed One, The Promise, The Seed), from Him the whole body, joined together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. When we died our life became hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ appears, then we also appear with Him in glory. God makes us alive in Christ even when we were dead in transgression- His grace saved us. And God raised us with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus in ORDER that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

I hope this is making sense to you. I hope that in all you are getting that you are getting some understanding. Hosea 4:6, "My people perish for a lack of knowledge."

2 Thessalonians 2:10, "...wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because the refused to love truth and be saved."

Know truth. Get free. Love truth and get saved!!

Be blessed y'all!
