SALVATION IS FOR TODAY
"The days are coming", declares the LORD, "when I will punish all who are circumcised only in the flesh- Egypt, Judah, Edom, Ammon, Moab and all who live in the wilderness in distant places. For these nations are really uncircumcised, and even the whole house of Israel is uncircumcised in the heart." Jeremiah 9:25-26
This is what the LORD says: 'Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight." declares the LORD. Jeremiah 9:23-24
'This is what the LORD ALMIGHTY, the God of Israel says: I am about to fulfill my words against this city- words concerning disaster, not prosperity. At that time they will be fulfilled before your eyes. But I will rescue you on that day, declares the LORD; you will not be given into the hands of those you fear. I WILL SAVE YOU; you will not fall by the sword but will escape with your life, because YOU TRUST IN ME, declares the LORD.' Jeremiah 39:16-18
"Behold, the days come, saith the LORD that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah." Jeremiah 31:31
This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, 'Know the Lord.' Because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. For I will forgive their wickedness and I will remember their sins no more. By calling this covenant "new" he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.
The old covenant made things ceremonially clean, only cleansing the outside. But it is only through the blood of Christ that our conscience can be made clean from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God! For this reason Christ is the Mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance- now that he has died to set us free from the sins committed under the first covenant. The first covenant was put into effect with the blood of animals, together with water, scarlet wool and branches of hyssop, and the sprinkled scroll and all the people. That was the blood of the covenant that we were commanded to keep. But as we read in Scripture, no one was able to keep it. There was destruction and death outside of this covenant. There was no protection for us outside or apart from keeping Gods perfect order. So God sent us his own Son to hold up our end and receive the punishment for our unfaithfulness to his covenant. The blood of Jesus had to be shed, because without the shedding of blood there can be no forgiveness. Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with human hands; he entered heaven itself, now, to appear for us in Gods presence. Christ appeared ONCE FOR ALL, AT THE CULMINATION OF THE AGES TO DO AWAY WITH SIN BY THE SACRIFICE OF HIMSELF. Just as people are destined to die once, and face judgement, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. Those who have acknowledged sin, who have turned to Christ (repented), and have received forgiveness of sin, are the ones who are waiting for the second appearing of Christ. This is not where he takes away sin. He took away sin in the first coming. If we never receive forgiveness of sin from the first coming, we will not know him at his second coming -when he brings us salvation. The second coming is when he appears to bring salvation. This is after we receive forgiveness of sin. If you are forgiven of a debt, do you still owe that debt? No, you are released from it and the bondage of it. It is the same way when we receive the forgiveness that Christ brings. He releases us from sin and the bondage of sin. He is returning for those whose sins have been forgiven. He already paid the price for our sins. All we need to do is turn to him and receive that which he paid for. The only way to receive it is to believe that he took away your sin and forgave you so that now you can worship the true and living God with clean hands and a pure heart. It is in this, that we wait for his return to bring us salvation.
Acts 4:12, 'Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.'
1 Corinthians 15:22, For as in Adam, all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
Remember we are all destined to die once and face judgement, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many. In Adam we died. In Christ we are made alive.
Galatians 3:3, For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
While we were sinners, Christ died for us.
It is through Christ that we are saved from Gods wrath.
I know I sound like a broken record and I pray the Holy Spirit is speaking to you now. Lord, fill the reader with the knowledge of your will, that your Kingdom come and your will be done on this earth as it is in heaven. This day! Lord, you said in 2 Corinthians 6:2, that in the time of favor you heard us and in the day of salvation you helped us! You said, NOW IS THE TIME of your favor and NOW IS THE DAY OF SALVATION! This is the Day you have made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! Lord, I thank you for every reader, that they may freely receive as you have freely given. I pray you receive His Life today, in Jesus Name.
