Survival Mode
When people don't heal from emotional wounds they end up looking for ways to protect themselves from being wounded again. This prevents true healing. We are all born into sin and sin always brings pain. At best, trying to protect ourselves from pain (emotional, mental or physical) is the state which most people live. This is called survival mode. But instead of trying our best to protect ourselves from the effects of this pain- what if we actually got free from it? What if true healing is actually possible?
I have been told by numerous people who say they are believers in Christ tell me that I can't "preach about healing" because not everyone gets healed. Not talking about the option of being healed is about as ignorant as not talking about salvation because not everyone gets saved.
It is not our fault that we are born into sin. But it is our responsibility to receive the remedy. Luke 5:31, "Jesus answered them, 'It is not the healthy who need the doctor, but the sick- I have not come to call the righteous but the sinner to repentance." It is the sinner who Jesus calls and He is calling the sinner to repent, not the righteous. Jesus calls to turn from sin and follow Him. It is in Him that WE ARE MADE RIGHTEOUS. Jesus calls the sinner to repent, the same way he calls the sick to be healed. Those who have witnessed salvation and healing, to go do the same. For a long time I was in self protection mode. Maybe you are there right now. We sin because we are born sinners. The only way to be saved from sin and the pain and the consequences that come from sin is to be born again of incorruptible seed, born again of a new Spirit. When we were born into sin, we were born into fear. Fear has to do with punishment. But perfect love cast out all fear. Lust disguised as love does not cast our fear. It produces rebellion and further separation from truth, which brings more self protection.
Self protection is not freedom. Fear always leads to the protection of self but truth always leads you back to God.
A proclaimed believer in Christ who is afraid to speak truth is one who has not personally encountered the freedom only found in Christ. Do you want to be free? I don't care how false believers feel about what I have to say- I believe the Word of God. The last time I checked, the devil is still a liar, seeking whom he may devour. Maybe you haven't turned to Christ, but you can. Those who deny self (not the ones who protect self) but those who deny self pick up their cross to follow Jesus become His disciples. And if you are His disciple, I want to leave you with Matthew 10, "Jesus called His 12 disciples and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease AND sickness." If you are a follower of Christ, He has given YOU the authority. Unbelievers in Christ are condemned- trying to mask their unbelief in works, with fake smiles and false believing, inwardly they are full of fear and self protection, trying to hide their sin instead of admitting their sin and truly receiving forgiveness. True forgiveness is when we are released from the control of sin and we choose life that Christ brings us. He didn't come to condemn us- He came to save us. Maybe you are in denial that you need saved from anything. But I am here to tell you- we were all born into sin! Sin ALWAYS brings death, pain, and destruction.
Do you want out? Do you want free? Do you want to be saved?
There are signs that follow the believer in Christ. Those signs are written in Mark 16:15-19. Go read them if you'd like. One of the signs is that you will lay hands on the sick and they will be well. That is my desire. It has been my desire since I was in first grade.
Psalm 37:4- Take delight in the LORD and HE will give YOU the desires of your heart.
If you have been bound by lies, fear and punishment- Jesus bore your punishment. It is time to believe truth and be free. It is only where the Spirit is Lord that there is true freedom.
Be well my friends.
